It has to be said that Season 4 of the BBC league had some great skill, goals and controversy everything you could ask for in a football season. It all came down to the final week where both the title and relegation were decided

Announcement

The BBC league will take on 13 teams this season as opposed to the traditional 12. This means that the season will be longer with more competition and you may find that your team may rest 1 week in the season. You will all still receive 12 games.

The premiership will now always have games on Thursday! With only one fixture every week taking place at Weds @ 720pm please note due to pitch availability it isn’t possible to have everything on a Thursday.

BBC Season 4 Winners

After defeating SBFC on the final day of the season Inter Banter were crowned champions in the best finale seen since the creation of playfiveaside.com.

Nykolas Bromley, David Barron, Luke Doubt, Jon Cousins, Rich Eager, Alex Knee, Daniel, Dave, Alistair Dickson and Nilesh Pandit

All will receive individual trophies and a trophy.

Goalkeeper of the season

Yusuf Bhunno (Refine United). May surprise you all, however consistency, vision and some unbelievable saves throughout the season. His skills will now be tested in the championship.

Most Dangerous

Tyrone Hunte (SBFC). Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott you can forget about them when Tyrone is around blistering pace, intelligent passing and an eye for goal. In the words of Mr. Kipling, exceedingly good.

Midfielder of the year

Thomas “saucy” Shellard (Albion Wanderers). 3 man of the match awards and a constant danger leaping forwards and backwards, fantastic season.

Mr. Consistency

Rich Kinsella and Michael Condon (Real Akabusi). It’s about time these 2 get recognized for showing up week in week out and sometimes being on the end of hammerings. This season Akabusi’s story was different finishing in 7^th. What does the future hold?

Golden boot

Phil Watson (Friday Chiefs). 22 goals in total a clear 7 goals ahead of the rest of the competition. As the Friday chiefs bow out will Watson comeback strong in the championship?

Game of the season

It had to be. Inter Banter vs. SBFC final day of the season.

Next season

Starts 16^TH September 2010. Prices remain £35/game. The Season will run from 16^th Sept- 16^th Dec. Then restart to climax in January (so everyone doesn’t miss games during the holiday season)
