The league
I am proud to announce the edition of 3 new teams, which now takes the league up to a total of 10 teams, what will change?
Instead if playing each other twice you will all play each other once having a total of 9 games. On some weeks teams may play twice in a week.
YOU WILL RECEIVE 2 EXTRA GAMES FREE AS A RESULT
Those of you from 2009 that played each other twice, both these games have been wiped off and you play each other again in the season.
THE LEAGUE TABLE IS CORRECT AND REFLECTS ALL THE ABOVE CHANGES
This week’s results
A Star is shining as we see this week’s new edition storm onto the seen to rattle Al Shebab. The All star team greeted press reporters saying that “well that was far too simple.” With a 15 goal margin over Al Shebab its no wonder they find themselves near the top end of the table. Al Shebab may feel a bit disheartened as they had just had a game against EFC, which they won in sexy fashion, shame about their next performance. Chiswick also begin their march up the table with their second win, they vow to remain undefeated throughout the season, but there is still a long way to go. They were able to overcome Smokey FC who’s former captain was sin binned for his troubles. Street Fame just cant catch a break and continue their losing streak this time against BBC, BBC move up to 5th while Fame remain yep you guessed it at the bottom.
The match reports
Al Shebab and EFC contested in a 35 minute no nonsense encounter. EFC started the better off and were in complete domination of Shebab who looked like they had had one too many kebabs before the game. Rishi opened the scoring with a lob from the half way line, yes I know what you’re thinking, how can you lob a keeper in 5 a side football, well clearly with a goalkeeper like the one we saw in Shebab anything is possible. They soon doubled with a shocking own goal. EFC continued attacks with Amil but eventually Shebab fought back with Yasir and Harun providing the links to get a goal a piece. Harun continued his skill throughout the half and linked well with Obi but Shebab couldn’t sneak ahead. EFC looked shaken. 2-2 at the half. In the second half it was all Shebab and even though Jeff scored first EFC just seem to forget how to defend with Harun, Obi, Zaki and Ahahsin all getting on the score sheet as EFC just looked totally out of it. In the end it was a flattering score line. Shebab 10-4.
All stars debut was capped by a sensational performance by Michael Burcham, to be honest it wasn’t just Michael that played well, it was Sam with his skill, Elias with his pace, Ahmed with his strength. It just seemed like we had seen the total package and that is a big statement to say. Hopefully the All stars won’t do a Liverpool and actually continue to win games. The result against Shebab was just all too simple. All stars 16-1 Shebab.
Well well well what can you say about Street Fame, definitely not going to be on the hit show Wayne Rooney’s street striker, perhaps they should go to a fame academy and try out singing as football is clearly not working
. That being said Fame couldn’t do much BBC were all over them from the whistle with loan signing Raj and Hasan providing the perfect duo to unleash destruction. Mounir joined in with a match winning performance and Josh also managed a goal to rub salt in the wound. BBC 8-1 Street Fame.
Smokey FC had a surprisingly poor performance, the team previously being touted as potential champions are now sitting in 7th place. Too much Christmas pudding? Too much sleep? Too much w**D?!!? Nobody knows. Chiswick were all over them like swine flu with David netting five. Mahdi also delivered a skilful performance with Ibby strong at the back. Chiswick make it 2 wins from 2 as they move up to 2nd.
Player Cam:
Game of the week. EFC vs. Al Shebab. It was a good first half unfortunately for EFC it all fell apart in the 2nd.
Goal of the day. Rishi (EFC). A Lob from the half way line, blame the keeper or was it really a good goal, you decide
Skills of the day. Definitely the most skilful week we have had thus far Sam Cole (All stars) showed great control and technique, Harun (Shebab) showed Ronaldo like feet. Hasan (BBC) did a few nutmegs and used the boards to his advantage.
Tackle of the day. TOO MANY SLIDE TACKLES, sliding isn’t allowed folks.
Sin bin Derek (Smokey FC)
A new era for BBC? After BBC truly had the worst start to the season last time around, this year they look to be putting it right, can they keep winning or is this just a phase, we shall see
