Welcome to week 7,
We are back down to 8 teams after two teams were booted out of the league for poor punctuality. How does it affect everyone? Well it doesn’t really you still all get the promised 7 games and there are no free games anymore.
This week’s action
Chiswick continue their undefeated run and reign terror on the league as they remain top of the table after blowing past BBC. Their closest competition are the All stars who are 3 points behind but went through double trouble successfully first defeating Bayern NeverLusen and then Team X. For NeverLusen they dip to 4th while X only have a point to their name and sit in 6th. Smokey FC also went through double trouble and both games could easily be voted games of the week. They tackled EFC who find themselves stranded at the bottom of the pile, despite late EFC pressure Smokey held on. They then took on Al Shebab and provided us with the comeback of the season, going from 4-0 down to end the game 7-7. Smokey are currently in 3rd but with only 1 game to play they will not be bringing home any silverware this season.
Double trouble in focus: All stars
The All stars come dressed as professionals, but they started the game in an absolute mess as NeverLusen pissed all over the all star defence which was at times non existent. Iyad, new signing Waseem and Amange scored in quick succession. All stars were reeling, it seemed like they were getting knocked out on the pitch. The All star revival began when Sam Cole hit a wonder goal to get the party started. Before the break Elias then followed as all stars tried to claw back. The 2nd half belonged to the all stars and every shot sailed into the corners, half the time the keepers didn’t even bother moving. Michael got the equaliser and Sam and Ahmed then put the all stars into the lead. NeverLusen will feel they weren’t awarded critical decisions in the game, as they were screaming for a penalty and fouls. The ref waved play on as NeverLusen couldn’t believe it. Michael continued to add to the humiliation of NeverLusen and in the end it was all stars 9-4 NeverLusen.
The second part of double trouble seemed a bit easier as Team X always seemed to claw back into it. All stars always looked in control but would get caught out on the counter on several occasions. Michael broke the deadlock from range but Ben then levelled for X. Sam put all stars back into the lead but Ben then levelled and Marwan then brought X into a surprise lead. Unfortunately for X they didn’t quite have the X factor with Michael, Sam and Elias banging in a goal every 3 minutes. For X they practically gave up towards the end. The scoreline will explain why. All stars 11-5 X.
Double trouble in focus: Smokey FC
Smokey FC always seemed comfortable against EFC and much is down to the attacking duo of Jazz and Ardis. Jazz got the opener with a ballerina like flick on the D, I am bit worried at how easily he turned, maybe he takes bale class. Nothing wrong with that Jazz express your feminine side. Ardis then bulldozed down the EFC defence laying waste to Tashan and co to score 2 back to back, one goal he linked up well with Arya. A disgusting own goal saw a ball played back and slip through the legs off the EFC keeper, should have gone to specsavers. However Rishi and Jeff then pushed hard to get back into the game. Rishi hit a belter of a free kick before a goal from Jeff saw them pull within two goals. EFC were never defensively strong and Arya ran rings around them, he scored twice and despite Jeff and Rishi doubling up there was no way back for EFC. Smokey 6-4 EFC.
Smokey then performed disgracefully in the opening minutes against Al Shebab. Not quite sure what they had been smoking during the break but they may as well have not been on the pitch. Shebab were too slick, too quick and too skilful and went through all outfield Smokey players. At the half Shebab were 4-0 up thanks to goals from Yasir, Harun and Abdi. These 3 were teasing smokey all game particularly Yasir who was making light work of Derek. In the 2nd half Smokey like army tanks battled forward and outmuscled Al Shebab. Derek put on his semi pro game and didn’t let anyone pass while Arya and Ardis ran down the wing. The first came form Jazz and the 2nd from Ardis. At 4-2 they sensed a comeback but then Shebab hit twice through Ahsan, surely it was now too much for Smokey? We then saw the greatest comeback ever witnessed. A hat trick from Ardis got it back to 6-5 but then Shebab hit a wonder strike to take it to 7-5.Shebab were time wasting and not letting smokey get the ball, wasting but Jazz was able to get one back. 7-6. Due to all the time wasting the referee added 4 minutes to the game as Smokey sensed hope. In one of the most shocking finishes to a game Ardis hit the last minute leveller and sent Smokey home with a point. What a heartbreaker. It ended Shebab 7-7 Smokey FC.
The title race Chiswick vs. BBC
Chiswick once again had man of the match David on point however this time he only scored twice. Despite dominating most of the game they started off shaky as an early David goal was cancelled out by Ahsan. However from then on it was all Chiswick they spanked the BBC and as Ibby sang to the onlooking ladies have a baby by me be a millionaire. Siam also got in on the action with Koli getting a goal. BBC tried to stage a late comeback but there was no where enough time. Chiswick 8-4 BBC
Player Cam:
Game of the week. Smokey FC vs. Al Shebab
Goals of the day. Rishi “go getter” Gharv (EFC). With a well taken free kick. Ibby (Chiswick) perhaps scored from range and when I say range he may as well have shot from Turnham green tube station, what a goal. The ballerina Jazzerina (Smokey FC) also hit the net with a turn that had the X factor.
Rampage. Arya and Ardis went on some cookoo runs for Smokey and Jeff (EFC) did the same.
Duo of the day Michael Burcham and Sam Cole (All stars). Apparently they wear the same aftershave so they can sniff each other out rather than look up. A similar tactic is used by Adebahore I mean Adebayor and Tevez
Dangerous Debut. Ben (X) got 4 goals in am impressive performance. Waseem (NeverLusen) also managed to hit the net.
Comeback Kings. After Shebab went 6-2 ahead you would have thought it would be lights out for Smokey in the final 10 minutes they somehow fought back to actually go 7-6 ahead
Player of the week: Sam Cole (All stars)
Team of the week:
GK Nobody
DF Ardis (Smokey FC)
