Match Report:                       AC Stratospherico      2          -          Sporting Pfc        1

Another stormy affair involving infamously heavy handed Sporting Pfc saw a highly contested match with opponents AC Stratospherico.

Despite constant warnings Pfc were caught inside the penalty box but to their fortune AC missed the chance presented, one of the several penalties already awarded this season.

Pfc’s midfield appeared at times missing in action, resulting in over compensation from their wide players. Right before half time player/manager Chicken de la Ivanovic got himself into the book as the player manager led his troops into a scrap. Pfc capitalised by an exceptionally well taken free kick to free up the leagues top scorer Marius to slot the ball home and put Pfc one up.

Pfc sought to assert their authority as the second half begun and outmuscle their opponents culminating in a series of over zealous and needless free kicks. Ultimately their efforts were to result in putting a few of their key men into the book. AC were back with a vengeance as a midfield masterstroke was played when Phill Satchell came on and provided the catalyst needed to get his side going.

Trouble was to follow as the leagues top scorer talked himself into the book and seconds after saw his marching orders for foolishly kicking the ball away. Off he went and on AC went seeking to take full advantage of the dismissal. A moment of madness saw one of the leagues most consistent players in John McCabe clearly caught in his penalty area conceding yet another gilt edged opportunity for AC. With a top place in the league on the line, AC’s leading scorer Parslow stepped up and slotted the winner home with aplomb.

MOTM            Phil Satchell    -           Bided his time by warming the bench but was                                                           the catalyst for a well fought win. Took his goal                                                       brilliantly.

Match Report:                       Man Chest Hair United   2           Substandard Liege              2

The tempest that was game1 eventually passed and game 2 kicked off. Now in a precarious position having just seen AC take top spot through a well fought win, Liege were keen to re establish their position as the league leaders.

Both teams started with one new player each and Liege’s debutant George was the first to receive the first big test struggling to keep out of his goal keepers area, culminating in the conceding of a penalty. Surely enough United took full advantage to gain an early lead.

Bizarrely the influential and creative heartbeat of United’s team found himself playing in defence and United struggled to open Liege up in the early minutes. To the players credit he marshalled from the back with the distinction and was keen to track back after advances forward. The coherence in team play appeared to be lost at sea as did the idiosyncratic collection of colours sported by the teams which appeared in an array of contrasting colours, striped and plain shirts.

United struggled to double their lead and take control of the game without getting caught and Liege who have fast made a name for a quick passing game were in the mood for champagne football.

Two expertly taken goals from Matt and penalty conceder George insured Liege stayed in the game. New recruit George had risen high to direct a ball fed through by a team mate low into the goal, leaving the keep stranded. A contender for goal of the season. However, United’s own debutant Dan had out did both to record two goals to his name. A few fine additions to strengthen both sides. The game finished 2 a piece.

MOTM            Matt    -           Everywhere he needed to be in attack for his team and                                             was a class act on the ball.
