Aston championship week 6

Welcome to week 6,

NOTE NEXT WEEK GAMES ARE 25 MINUTES TNA, TOTAL NON STOP ACTION. NO HALF TIME DROP BALL TO START. Next week will be the last week :(

Well well well in what has been another fantastic championship season, it once again goes right down to the wire folks with Limiteds and Milf battling it out for the title as they will go head to head on the final day. Milf and Limiteds both continued their undefeated runs in the championship with Milf spanking the Camel on their back and Limiteds bashing the Cunning Stunts. Milf now face the Nightwolves followed by top of the table Limiteds on the final day of the season. If they beat the Wolves they will go equal on points and will need just a draw to secure the title, if they lose to the Wolves they will need a definite victory. Talk about tension. In our mid table encounter and what was a wonderful game of football the Swans came out narrow victors over the Pups to move up to 3rd.

The action

Limiteds once again showed why they are top of the table as they dominated against a Stunt side that seem to have lost their way, all the Stunts just gave up half way through and made it all too simple Limiteds strolled to a 4-1 lead in the first half with David Wall and Lewis Cosgrove showing great link up play on the frontline. The 2nd half started a bit more positively for the Stunts as Jags netted his 2nd of the game and in the words of Madonna restored a “ray of light” to the Stunt cause. However Limiteds soon eclipsed them with Mitchell completing his hat trick and Lewis also adding. Stunts tried to stage a late comeback with Akash and James but time was not on their side as the Limiteds kept men behind the ball and defended their lead. Limiteds 6-4 Stunts.

The animals in the Swans and Pups squad were ready to go. With the Aston Geese on looking it looked like the Swans certainly had more fans than the pups who just had a pile of doodoo in its stands. Both teams came out the blocks on a mission for only one objective and that was 3 points. The match started with high tempo and great technical ability from both sides, but it was Olly who hit first for the pups as he managed to finish in the bottom left hand corner. Tom was trying to get the swans back into it with his movement on and off the ball. But the pups held out for the half, 1-0 Pups. Swans were still feeling Froggy and were about to leap with Dave Hicks getting his team back in the game within 5 minutes of restart and then Dave Adams turned the game on its head to take the Swans into the lead.  The Pups seemed like they were barking up the wrong tree but a silly error in the back line of the Paedo gave a penalty to the pups which Olly completed. The ball bounced around with the Swans flapping away to try and storm ahead while the pups just chased it around as if they had just been let out of their cages, could have gone either way with both keepers being tested throughout the game in particularly the second half. Charlie (Swans) made one cracker of a save and Raj (Pups) made a few. In the closing stages **cue music** I can be your hero baby, I can kick away the pain, you can net my breath away. Dave Hicks popped up and stroked it in which gave the swans the win and sent pups back to the kennel. Swans 3-2 Pups.

The Milf and the Camels game was more like piggy in the middle rather than 5 a side football. Milf just played their way through this match with classy one touch passing; they gave Joe Camel no chance from the start as they banged their way to 3-1 lead with sensational goals from Fabio, Philipp and Jerome. The 2nd half was no different as Diego seemed like the only player in the Camel side that wanted the ball. Alex maintained his strength at the back and made sure Camels didn’t get too far. Philipp produced some great passes, while Koldo, Jerome and Fabio rotated well to confuse the camels. Bogdan didn’t have much to do to be honest; he just sat there smoking his pipe reading the latest OK magazine. Milf blasted the 1st 4 goals of the 2nd half within 3 minutes. 7-1. Waheeey Diego scored a penalty, even Milf were celebrating that one. Shuffy scored the next as it was now 7-3. But I guess Milf didn’t mind. Philip, Jerome and Koldo then closed off affairs to end an unbelievable Milf 10-3 Camels.

Player Cam

Game of the week: Swans vs. Pups

Goals of the Day: To be honest you can give it to any player in the Milf squad as they showed the art of one touch passing. They will soon be teaching this to the French national team as of course they seem to only win things by cheating ;)

Skill of the day: Lewis Cosgrove (Limiteds). Skipping past 3 down the wing, cutting in and playing the perfect pass to set up the goal, he calls that PPF. Picture perfect football.

Battle of the day. Olly Leach (Pups) vs. Dave Adams (Swans). Both were key players for their squads. Olly despite on occasion being a ball hog ;) played a few lovely passes culminating in a 1-2 move that unfortunately went nowhere. The deadly Dave duo were much the same with Hicks and Adams. If this is one person and the ref has once again written the names down wrong then whoever it was just consider yourself lucky that the referee thinks you are so good to actually claim you are 2 people. Should have gone to specsavers.

Super Saves: Charlie (Swans) making a great diving save to his bottom right to parry away from the danger area as Pups pressed for the winner. Raj (Pups) also played an absolute blinder.

Hat-trick heroes: Mitchell (Limiteds), Jerome and Phillip (Milf)

Team of the week:

Gk: Raj (Pups)

Def: Sam (Limiteds)

MDF: Phillip (Milf)

AMF: Jerome (Milf)

FW: Lewis (Limiteds)

Player of the week: Jerome with just a general great all around performance

Please see spreadsheet attached, let me know if anything  is incorrect. REMINDER NEXT WEEK IS THE LAST WEEK
