Welcome to week 6,
As Treesdown partied like its 1999 with a coach going around Birmingham for them to flaunt their trophy it was all about 2nd place in the final week and it was anyone’s for the taking. With ABG losing to Treesdown their dream of a champions league finish ended. London’s Finest seemed the most likely to achieve this fate but a 2nd half comeback from Stafford 10 meant that it was between ISA and Reds United for 2nd. Reds United didn’t even show and that meant that ISA had to grab a victory and in typical ISA fashion they clinched 2nd place in the dying seconds of the season with another patented ISA 2nd half comeback. In honesty they deserve 2nd place what a phenomenal team.
The action
Ajax Treesdown were quoted in 5 side world as saying “A win on the last day of the season will be for our loyal fans who have followed us throughout these 14 weeks” as captain Kul reigned in the army Aston Brook Greens looked to steal 2nd. As the game started it didn’t long for yes you guessed it Dav to get himself on the score sheet, he has been in such consistent form throughout the league. Raj and Dav were running the show in the first half as their link up play was immense, they both got themselves on the score sheet with Raj bombing on from defence to take on two and blast it in the bottom left hand corner it was like a runaway train and Dav getting his 2nd before the half, only for James.M to fire his team back into the game as he has done so often for ABG this season. At half-time it was 3-1 to Ajax. As the 2nd half got underway it was ABG who struck first through Dave.W but Dav banged one back for Treesdown almost immediately. This match was a very firm but fair encounter James.M tried to recover something for his team as he scored two more which got him his hat-trick but the teamwork and class upfront of Ajax was too good as Dav and Raj who were having their own contest of anything you can do I can do better. Dav defeats Raj as he netted an impressive 5 and Ajax win a good game 7-4,
This was a match for Finest to seal that 2nd spot but they had to go through the inconsistent yet skilful Stafford 10. It was Stafford who came out the blocks firing first as Hasil hit the opener only for Todd to blast one back in for Finest. With a very up tempo first 5 minutes tackles were flying in and the skill of players dazzled the referee who at times didn’t even know where the ball was. Stafford 10 looked more likely to go ahead and once again Hasil performed his mini magic routines to put Stafford ahead. 2-1 HT to Stafford. Finest could not get around this match, but Nathan as always tried to fire on his team with a spanking at half time. The 2nd half started and Hasil was showing off his skills on numerous occasions, outshining the likes of Demi and Michael. Both defences seemed flawless in the 2nd half with Nathan (Finest) and Yemi (Stafford) doing the dirty work. Michael and Demi stepped up to the play as they fired Finest back ahead leaving Stafford in shock, but Fin came off the bench to blast one in to the corner and Hasil getting the 4th for his team giving him his hat-trick. Hasil then rubbed salt into the wound with a late penalty to give Stafford 10 the game. Finest should have sealed 2nd a long time ago but it was a poor final 10 minutes that cost them the game. Next year Finest vow to return to rip apart the premiership.
Lehmann had their fans on the edge of their seats in their final game. Both Lehmann and ISA were pushing for an early goal but it was the floating feet of Harj who struck first for ISA. Lehmann reacted almost immediately with more determination than Inter showed against Chelsea last night. P.s Chelsea fans HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. Lehmann were unfortunate not to get the equalizer as the ISA defence held out to stay 1-0 up at the half. Lehmann continued being dangerous (can’t believe I just said that) and Tomas got a goal straight away only for Bobby to respond with devastating impact. Kit then hit a quick fire double to blast Lehmann into the lead, one of the strikes was simply sublime as he broke the speed cameras with a vicious shot into the bottom left corner. ISA were trying everything to get through this match but the Lehmann goalkeeper was reluctant to open up. Jazz hit the post and Harj and bobby were inflicting pain. Finally a wonderful pass from Harj put bobby through to blast it in the top right and then in a controversial ending to a delightful season a penalty kick was awarded, which way you ask? Team ISA. The commentators stood up the fans held their breath and yes Bobby played that funky music to convert as ISA walk away 4-3 victors and with 2nd place. Unlucky Lehmann finish in 7th place.
Quantity over Quality record their first and only win wooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo but that’s because Reds didn’t show, doesn’t matter a wins a win now go and party like a rock star.
