Aston premiership week 4

Welcome to week 4,

Some very one sided fixtures in the premiership this week with 4 teams now sitting on 6 points and 3 points separating 3rd from 7th. Bulgaria United had a very tricky encounter against London Town and walked away with a victory but were pushed to the end, Voom on the other hand were not pushed at all by Rossoneri who slip from the pace. Both Bulgaria and Voom are still undefeated but Voom are on top having played a game extra. Four Southern Fairies and a dirty northerner added to the mourning of the Jackson 5 who haven’t won a game since the news of Michal Jackson’s passing. Despite a thrilling season 3 they remain on 0 points. Speaking of 0 points Random Rovers couldn’t escape from the bottom of the barrel against PfannKuchen. In fact Kuchen annihilated them with their best performance to date. Kuchen leap frog up to 3rd as a result.

How it went down

Bulgaria United looked to continue their quest to retain the title against London Town, but they definitely weren’t given an easy ride. Once again Alkesh Parmar who has definitely been Town’s player of the season began with strength and pace to baffle the on looking Bulgaria fans. Town were on the back foot but Bulgaria couldn’t keep their shots down and J-Vik had to make 3 fine stops early on. Against the run of play Komal put Town into the lead. United didn’t quit and Rafa and Andrey linked up well allowing Rafa to equalise and then put them ahead. Rafa then completed his hat trick in what has to go down as a keeper error. Despite all the Bulgaria pressure Town had Sagar and Haroon come on to some impact and Trev although quiet for some parts showed great skill. Komal was able to pull it back to 3-2 before the break to set up an exciting 2nd half. Bulgaria quickly renewed their 2 goal advantage but then the game had to be paused as an injury to Komal had him down. In the end Bulgaria walked away 4-2 victors.

Kuchen who started off the season in rocky fashion seemed to have found their stride banging in 10 past a lost Rovers side who were never really in the game. Every Kuchen player got a goal with Dom getting the man of the match with a hat trick.  Koldo also delivered a great performance with Selina also impressing. What next for Kuchen? Well they must really hope Bulgaria and Voom slip up in the coming weeks for them to get back in the title hunt, this however is doubtful. For Rovers well Jason and Ali were the two key men and in honesty the 10-1 scoreline was a tad flattering, shouldn’t have ever been this ba.,

The Fairies struggled to find their way from Never Land with severe delays reported by TinkerBell. The game was reduced to 22 minutes but there was no half time. Jackson 5 didn’t complain (Yes I am as shocked as you) this however was not the case during the game where of course they banged out their no1 single blame it on the r r r r referee. Nah it wasn’t that bad Mickey was once again Jackson 5’s best player sporting a David James hair due pulling off some David James like saves. Jay’s left foot was kept quiet by Sam Dalton in the fairies back line while John and Bhav were kept out by Justin who made 3 crucial saves one from a Deng free kick for the fairies. The fairies attack had David Joseph and Joe plugging away the shots and Adam making a late appearance. Apparently on his way to the game he was stopped by the highlighter mob who proceeded to draw lime green lines across his top. It was a back and forth game but the fairies had more chances Harding netted the opener before Sam added a belter from a tight angle. With 5 minutes left John restored hope for Jackson 5 but in the final minute Joe got his 2nd of the game to end a competitive game 3-1 fairies.

Voom are exciting and electrifying. Dazzling and dominating but at times Cocky and confused. Of course they enjoy their football but when they are more than 5 goals ahead they like to pass it around the D before actually putting it in the net. They absolutely obliterated Rossoneri whose best player was Misagh in goal making 5 blinding saves. Butch was also put to the test on many occasions and made sure Voom’s massive goal advantage remained in tack. Stone hit a goal every 3 minutes in the first half before Ben B scored a hat trick in the 2nd half. Zeff with 0 goals you are the weakest link, goodbye ;)

Player Cam

Goal of the day. Tom Stone (Voom). Unleashing a phenomenal belter from half way. A lot of power had Misagh in the Rossoneri goal flapping at thin air.

Move of the day. Andrey providing a cheeky back heel which fell into the path of Rafa who nestled into the net nicely. Great one touch football starting from Ned for Bulgaria.

Tackle of the day. Again that man Sam (Fairies) right place at the right time, all the time. Donghlay (Kuchen) was also fierce at the back and as usual Alkesh (London Town)

Duo of the day. Dom and Koldo (Kuchen). 5 goals between the 2 of them and some great link up play.

The Gold standard? Town and Rovers who ripped the gold standard apart have yet to really make an impact. So the question remains if this is the best the gold standard has to offer should it be called the gold standard :p Come on town and rovers let’s start moving up the table the Tuesday referee speaks very highly of both teams so don’t let him down.

Team of the week

Gk Butch (Voom)

DF Sam Dalton (Fairies)

MDF Dom (Kuchen)

AMF Rafa (Bulgaria United)

FW Tom Stone (Voom)

Player of the week-. Dom (Kuchen). For his performance against Random Rovers, lets hope they can keep up their winning ways as next week they take on old foes Bulgaria United
