Welcome to week 7,
NEXT WEEK 20 MINUTE TNA. TOTAL NON STOP ACTION. NO HALF TIME, DROP BALL TO BEGIN. EVERYONE BE ON TIME AND READY TO GO IMMEDIATELY. LIKE THIS WEEK IF YOUR NOT ON TIME I WILL START YOU WITH FEWER PLAYERS.
Va Va Voom take that one step closer to the title, in fact if you look at the league table it seems almost impossible for them not to win. They are 4 points clear of Upside Down Chickens in 2nd place who after defeating Kuchen and ending the Kuchen dream of silverware got pegged back by a surprise defeat to Rossoneri. Had the Chickens won that game they would only be a point behind and things would be slightly spicier in the final week. However now it is down to 2 teams. Bulgaria United and Voom. Bulgaria United managed a marginal victory over the fairies this week and now need 2 wins out of 2 in the final week, however they must also hope Voom lose to Rovers.
Over at the other end of the table a loss for 4 man Rovers meant that they finish affairs at the bottom of the table. Injury stricken Town were the ones to defeat the Rovers and move up a place after the Jackson 5 forfeited their game. Fairies went through double trouble with one win and a loss; they sit in 6th but could finish as high as 4th with a victory in the final week.
Total Nonstop action.
Town and Rovers began affairs in what ended up being a 15 minute game. Rovers began with only 4 men and to the shock of the crowd their 4 men went 2-0 ahead thanks to a Jason double. The 5 men of town were not having it and managed to level thanks to goals from Haroon and Trev. Alkesh was then stretchered off as Town’s player of the season seems set to miss the world cup. Town then played on for Alkesh and managed to settle the game with Trev and Kailesh scoring to record a much needed 3 points for Town. Town 4-2 Rovers.
The Injury crisis continued as Kailesh was seen hobbling around for Town and J-Vik got his head and his chest banged up after miraculously saving from the Voom attack. Both players played on and it is a mystery how J-Vik’s glasses were not broken. Apparently he did go to specsavers. Voom are a footballing phenomenon and despite an early scare form Trev pulling it back to 2-1 Voom were comfortable and ended affairs with both Ben and Zeff on the score sheet. 7-1.
Bulgaria and the Fairies then contested a cracker with end to end football where both keepers could have easily walked away with a man of the match award. Bulgaria United struck through Andrey the magician but his goal was cancelled out by a wonder strike from Adam. As Bulgaria pushed they forced a string of fine saves from Justin who was eventually beaten with 2 more from Andrey to get his hat trick. At 3-1 United seemed to cruise but their defence seemed a bit flat and now it was Nedko who flew around like Spiderman saving magnificently. Unfortunately Fairies kept coming and got it back to 3-3 with Sam and a stone cold stunner from Joe. At 3-3 and a minute left there could only be one man to settle matters and it was the ravishing Rafa who got Bulgaria the 3 points. Bulgaria 4-3 Fairies
Kuchen and Chickens knew that this encounter was all about the title. The loser would drop from the title race and end their season empty handed. It was an even opening with Diego making 3 fine stops to keep Chickens away and Kuchen in the game. Dom went up the other end and scored for Kuchen as the orange county celebrated. Kuchen were then on the back foot for the rest of the game and a hat trick from Owali and a goal from Mukhtar led to the chickens invading Kuchen with a comfortable 4-1 win. The Chicken title dream is still alive but Kuchen’s is over. Chickens 4-1 Kuchen
The Fairies and Rossoneri then faced off in another skilful and up tempo affair an early mistake from Misagh saw the fairies take the lead. Sam Dalton claimed the goal. Hicham managed to level for Rossoneri but the fairies passing game was too good for Rossoneri as their defence couldn’t cope with the speed of Adam and Joe. Joe put fairies ahead with Sam completing affairs. Fairies could have had more however Misagh more than made up for his error with 4 fantastic saves. Fairies 3-1 Rossoneri.
Rossoneri then perhaps put together the upset of the season with a spanking of the chickens, the chickens were so humiliated that they can no longer produce eggs and the Rossoneri fire power was so strong they actually broke the crossbar. Jerome with a hat trick and Koldo and Hicham getting two a piece made it a remarkable show; however it wasn’t their attack that should take credit. The defence of Philipp and Hicham stayed strong and broke up the skilful Chicken attack who at times just forgot to pass. Chickens did try and stage a late comeback but no there was no chance. Rossoneri 7-3 Chickens. Chickens have their title dream ended.
Player Cam
The title dream ends. Chickens defeated Kuchen to end the Kuchen dream and then in our shock result Rossoneri overcame the chickens and that means the chickens cannot push for the title. Kuchen and Chickens will have to wait till next year if they are around.
Game of the week. Bulgaria United vs. Four Southern Fairies and a dirty Northerner
Goals of the day. Adam and Joe (Fairies). Despite having a bit of a domestic against Bulgaria each managed a stunner apiece. Adam with a one step smash and Joe with a curler.
Skill of the day. Andrey (Bulgaria). Black Eyes Peas named the song Boom Boom Pow after Andrey. Jerome (Rossoneri) was juicy and Mukhtar (Chickens) was magnificent.
Move of the day. In a move that involved every Voom player starting with Tim in goal it went Tim to Tom one touch to Prich stride forward to Zeff back heel to Ben B, got fouled but surprisingly stayed on his feet passed to Tom who passed back to Ben to finish. One touch, quick silky, sexy football Ruud Guillit would be proud. Almost like watching Tennis not football with the ball being smashed around from end to end.
4 men better than 5? Rovers must have been in dream land after they discovered they played better with 4 men. They pulled 2 ahead with only 4 and when they returned to 5 men lost their lead. Something for unsolved mysteries.
Too much for Town. You know what, I respect London Town despite the odd little bit of mouth they are a great side and it was a shame to see Alkesh and J-Vik get injured. I have no idea what they are doing near the bottom of the table but I have no doubt if they return next year they will rip the premiership apart.
Heartbreak hotel. Rafa (Bulgaria United). In the last minute he scored the winning goal to give United the 3 points. Fairies deserved a draw at least.
Saves of the day. Justin (Fairies) and Nedko (Bulgaria) were both sensational and kept their respective teams in the game. Misagh (Rossoneri) in both games made some fine saves although he did make one little error
but nobody saw that. He looked like he was playing basketball with himself.
Hat trick heroes. Jerome (Rossoneri) Owali (Chickens)
Team of the week
Gk Nedko (Bulgaria)
DF Zeff (Voom)
MDF Andrey (Bulgaria)
AMF Owali Jamal (Chickens)
FW Jerome (Rossoneri)
Player of the week. Nedko (Bulgaria). If he hadn’t saved those shots Bulgaria’s title dream would be all over.
