Aston premiership week two

Welcome to week 2,

The word of Bulgaria United’s magnificence has spread across seven seas as their opponents this week didn’t even bother showing, instead arriving at 930pm. Guys please check the website and look at the recent spreadsheets. Va Va Voom were looking vulnerable for most parts of the game against the fairies but managed to compose themselves for the last 5 minutes to end victorious. Upside Down Chickens also kept up the heat with an encounter where there was more talking than playing football against the Jackson 5. The Chickens remain third while Jackson 5 are stranded at the bottom. Rossoneri got off the mark to add to the misery of London Town. Rossoneri begin their campaign in 4th while London Town are in 6th.

How it went down

Va Va Voom who were given an easy ride in league one must be thinking this division is that easy, well they got their first shock against four southern fairies and a dirty northerner. Voom had to begin with 4 as Zeff’s business with his right hand took slight longer than expected ;) , the good thing is he was charged up for the game. Voom did begin the more dominant with Ben as displaying his usual flare, however with Sam and James probably having their best performances since season 3 Ben and Tom were finding it hard to get past these two. Ben tried all his little tricks but Sam outmuscled him. The deadlock was eventually broken by Ben but Voom were by no means comfortable. In the 2nd half Voom played as if they had already won it with Ben and Zeff trying some skill from the training ground only to be charged down by Adam and Joe who showed them exactly why this is the premiership. Voom were too casual and fairies came on the attack. Butch saved twice in immaculate fashion to keep Voom in the game and Tim seemed like he was the only one playing sensible football for Voom. At the other end Tom then hit the post twice and then the unthinkable the undefeated Voom lost their lead after Hardaker finally got one past Butch. 1-1. With 5 minutes left on the clock chances were coming at either end Justin in the fairies goal played a role in keeping them level but Butch was also remarkable. With 5 minutes left on the clock Voom pressure paid off as Stone finally put them back into the lead as Voom were relieved. Fairies didn’t give up but in the last two minutes Ben and Tim got a goal apiece and despite Adam pulling one back just after Ben B was sent to the sin bin, fairies didn’t have enough time to keep going. Voom 4-2 Fairies.

Rossoneri ended last season barely escaping relegation but this season they look like a totally different squad and in fact were far too comfortable against London Town. The game was electric and the ball went from end to end. Chanturz took Rossoneri into the lead but this was cancelled out by Trev for Town who had been showing off some fancy footwork. Town really seem out of their element in this division as the only people that looked like they were trying were Alkesh and Komal who must have run the full length of the pitch on several occasions. Rossoneri let the ball do the work and Philipp and Jerome linked up well and Hicham was once again cool, composed and skilful. All 3 got goals as they went into the break 5-1 ahead. Town attempted the comeback of the century with Komal and Trev striking in the opening 3 minutes of the game but Misagh in the Rossoneri goal played his best game to date saving countless times to make sure Rossoneri stayed ahead, what a performance. In the final 5 minutes Rossoneri sealed the deal with Jerome as the game ended Rossoneri 6-3. London Town.

The Jackson 5 were the Jackson 3 as the famous five that managed to finish in 3rd place had been ipped apart through injury and other commitments. Jackson 5 seemed like they had lost the game before it even began with Mickey the only alert player with a string of fine saves. Owali whose arms were flying more than an air traffic controller was penalised on several occasions. Despite all this you cannot take away the skill of this lad as he brought the Chickens into the lead. Abdul Said was then sin binned for reacting to a challenge as both sets of players were now talking too much and not playing football. The referee and commentators put in their ear plugs as both sets of players had attended motor mouth lessons with the whistle having to be blown far too many times. In the 2nd half Abdul calmed himself down and linked up well with Mukhtar, both who just didn’t shut up in the first half showed exactly what they can do when they keep quiet and play football. They were dominating the midfield. Owali was too much for Frank as he managed a second half hat trick with Abdul following closely after. The Jackson 5 really struggled to find their rhythm but in the last 5 minutes they seemed to get used to one another. A great link up with Bhav saw Amish get a goal back and then John and Frank continued the goals. Jackson 5 didn’t seem themselves as the Chickens walked away like smooth criminals. Chickens 6-3 Jackson

Player Cam

Talking about tackles. The Fairies were unlucky not to get more out of their encounter against Voom. Sam and James both impressed with a thrilling defensive display.

Goal of the day. Amish (Jackson 5). A great move that started from the keeper allowed for Bhav to pick out the perfect no look pass to set up Amish who finished first time, great move.

Saves. Justin (Fairies) and Ben B (Voom) made some unbelievable stops. Misagh (Rossoneri) was also in flying form.
Duo of the day. Owali and Mukhtar ( Chickens). Great display of skill from the two all game. Confusing the Jackson’s as they moonwalked past their defence.

Rossoneri recovery. After much talk about certain relegation last season it seemed as though Rossoneri may be in the hunt for the trophy. Hicham and Misagh were their key men this week with new signing Jerome also playing a role. Let’s see what they can do next week.

Team of the week

Gk Ben B (Voom)
DF Sam Dalton (Fairies)
MDF Hicham (Rossoneri)
AMF Jerome (Rossoneri)
FW Owali (Chickens)

Player of the week- Owali Jamal (Chickens). 4 goals, a boat load of skill a very impressive performance.
